Hello Parents,
This week we are working on algebra rules in math. For example, find the missing number in the equation 2+y=5, and we learn that y=3 because 2+3=5. We are also learning about balancing equations. For example, 5+2+4=1+10. We have a math test on Friday covering Chapter 3 in Math. Be sure to use the math website resources to learn more about our math lessons this week.
In Language Arts, we are learning about related words, main idea and details, graphic organizers, clauses, complex sentences, and our story writing genre will be narrative nonfiction. We will review what we know about suffixes, compound words, and fact and opinion.

Now, this resource will let you view the entire math textbook at home. ALSO, it will allow you to print out the homework we do and give you additional math pages for practice. (To get to homework you will need to click on the "Table of Contents"; then you will click on the little gray arrow next to whichever chapter you want the homework for; a list will drop down from the arrow; click on whichever lesson we are working on (IE 14-6); then click on the "Resources" button which is next to the "Table of Contents" button; finally, homework and additional practice resources will appear for you to view.) If your child "forgets" his or her homework, you can still have him or her do it if you have an internet connection.
