WRITING TEST INFORMATION

This week, on Tuesday, students will be taking a state writing exam.
Some basic things that will be graded by state officials are the following:
-Correct punctuation and spelling
-A paper that is not to short (less than four paragraphs). A paper that is not to long and drawn out (a story that is longer than a page and a half).
-First paragraph is the introductory paragraph, middle paragraphs are the body, and the final paragraph is the conclusion that wraps things up. Sometimes the final paragraph restates the main idea of a writing paper.
-If the writing is a story about an experience, be sure to include many adjectives and describing words to liven up the story.
-If the writing is informs the reader about a topic, be sure to have a main idea, and paragraphs that provide details that support the main idea.
- It is best to keep papers simple and to the point. Papers that are too lengthy usually lose the main idea of an essay or lose the point or plot of a story.
